Cadmos 2020 Engagement Reports – 10 years of impact transparency

In 2020, more than 30 Cadmos fund companies have again improved their sustainability practices following an engagement meeting. Our microsite reports and illustrates these impacts in an interactive format recognised by leading sustainability finance organisations.

We are particularly proud to be cited as a good practice example in the Swiss Sustainable Finance (SSF) study: Reporting recommendations on portfolio ESG transparency. It is indeed imperative to stimulate a qualitative growth in sustainable finance. The moment has come to demonstrate that it does what it claims and that it contributes to positive, measurable and additional impacts.

In view of the climate and societal urgencies, we can all welcome the fact that sustainable finance has grown exponentially in the past years. Aware of the key role of sustainable finance, legislators want to stimulate the growth of this industry and of financial tools that contribute to financing the better world of tomorrow.

With their publications, SSF is making a significant contribution to increasing the quality of various sustainable investment strategies and the market’s ability to identify them. Clients and advisors who wish to outperform and generate positive impacts now recognise committed managers who dare to be transparent. Staying at the level of intentionality will soon not be enough. The CFA Institute’s draft ESG Disclosure standards for investment products are yet another example. Transparency about portfolio investments, the exercise of voting rights and the impact of engagement meetings certainly exposes managers to imperfection and criticism, but it is the first condition for assessing the ability to generate additional financial and societal impacts.

With the Cadmos funds, PPT aims to be a leader in reporting on the positive impacts of its investments. The annual report available at cadmos.ppt.ch bears witness to this.
